Biography

Biréli Lagrène born 1966 in Soufflenheim, Alsace, France. Already in early ages the child prodigy was seen as phenomenon and legitimate successor of the legendary Django Reinhardt. 

The young legend started performing at the age of 11 in festivals around France and Germany. Later abroad and overseas. He finally was choosen by audience and critics to be the greatest jazzguitar player of the 21th century. This image remains and follows Biréli up to this day. His musical variety that he proves with each excursion in different genre of music (Classic, Rock, Pop, etc.) is legendary. His repertoire, improvisation and imagination surprises his audience always anew. Biréli's technical perfection is undoubted.

Beside his ability as multiintrumentalist he convinces with several vocal arragements. Most critics think that he underestimates his capability in this way.

The list of musicians Biréli Lagrène peformed with, is endless. Amongst others there were,
John McLaughlin, Richard Galliano, Didier Lockwood, Henri Salvador, Roberto Alagna, Jaco Pastorius and many more.
